Overview
ACCE thesis
Nestlé India makes Maggi noodles, Nescafé and Kit Kat, along with Cerelac and Nan infant nutrition, and it runs the category leadership in instant noodles and infant food in India. The moat is distribution and brand: a direct reach into millions of kirana stores that competitors have struggled to match, and a gross margin of 55.7% that signals real pricing power. Revenue growth of 20.3% is well ahead of what a defensive staples name usually delivers, and an ROE of 79.9% shows how little capital the business needs to compound. The stock trades at 56.3x trailing and 48.0x forward earnings, so the premium is steep and the thesis rests on sustaining volume growth and margin discipline rather than on any cheapness. It is worth a deeper look if you want exposure to Indian urban consumption at quality, provided you are comfortable paying for it.
