Overview
ACCE thesis
TAT Technologies overhauls and repairs aircraft components, mainly heat exchangers, air-conditioning and environmental control systems, and fuel and hydraulic parts, for commercial and business aviation operators through its Limco-Piedmont and Limco-Airepair subsidiaries. Its edge is the niche nature of the work: it holds the approvals and repair certifications that let airlines and lessors send these units out for overhaul instead of buying new, and that capability is harder to replicate than the mechanical work itself. Revenue grew 22.8%, a real acceleration for a company of this size, and the 10.6% operating margin shows that growth is not being bought with pricing concessions. The stock trades at 9.0 times forward earnings against 20.3 times trailing, which implies the market expects earnings to recover sharply, so the key question is whether margins hold as volume rises. At a $419M market cap with no index membership, the name is thinly covered and the valuation gap could reflect either an overlooked compounder or a cyclical business at a seasonal peak; that distinction is worth a deeper look at order backlog and customer concentration before anyone commits capital.
