Overview
ACCE thesis
Autoliv makes airbags, seatbelts, steering wheels and other occupant-protection systems for automakers, with passive safety content that rises with every new vehicle regulation. The structural case rests on that regulatory tailwind: safety standards keep adding content per car, and Autoliv's scale in restraint systems gives it a durable share of global light-vehicle programs. Revenue growth of 3.3% is modest, but the 25.9% ROE and a 13.7 trailing P/E against a 10.1 forward P/E imply earnings are expected to rise faster than sales. The stock trades at a discount to its own near-term earnings path while the business still converts capital well, so the question for the team is whether margins (9.6% operating, 19.3% gross) can hold through auto production cycles. Worth a deeper look on the margin trajectory and whether the forward estimates are credible.
