Overview
ACCE thesis
America Movil is Latin America's largest mobile and fixed-line operator, running wireless, broadband, enterprise data and pay-TV businesses across Mexico, Brazil, Colombia and much of the rest of the region. Its scale in spectrum and network is the moat: a 62.8% gross margin and 21.5% operating margin are hard to replicate for a new entrant in these markets. Revenue growth is only 3.1%, so the thesis rests less on top-line acceleration and more on margin discipline and capital returns from a business already generating a 21.6% ROE. At 15.1 times trailing earnings and 11.2 times forward, the stock screens cheap against its own profitability, which is the reason it merits a closer look. The risks are regional currency swings, regulatory pressure on pricing and the capex needed to keep the network competitive, and those belong at the top of the diligence list.
