Overview
ACCE thesis
Arca Continental is a Mexican bottler of Coca-Cola trademark beverages, operating franchise territories across Mexico, Peru and Argentina, and it sells its product through a distribution network of its own routes and retail outlets. Its moat is the exclusive franchise contract with The Coca-Cola Company in each territory, which is hard to replicate and gives it a dense route system that smaller rivals cannot match on cost. The main near-term driver is volume recovery and pricing in Mexico, where the company has been expanding its portfolio beyond sparkling drinks into water, tea and sports drinks. At a market cap of roughly 356 billion MXN and a trailing P/E of 6.1 against a forward P/E of 15.1, the market is pricing in a sharp fall in earnings, which is worth testing against the fundamentals since our data set has no revenue growth or margin figures to confirm or refute that gap. The first step is to pull the latest filings and check whether the trailing earnings base is depressed by one-off items.
