Overview
ACCE thesis
Indus Towers owns and operates passive telecom infrastructure in India, leasing tower sites, rooftops and shared space to the mobile operators (Airtel, Vodafone Idea and others) that carry the country's wireless traffic. That business is capital-heavy and sticky: once a tenant is on a tower, moving its equipment is expensive, which gives the company a long-dated, inflation-linked revenue base with a 31.2% operating margin. The near-term driver is tenant addition and 4G/5G co-location on existing sites, which lifts revenue per tower without matching capex, though top-line growth of 4.6% shows the expansion is still modest. At a trailing P/E of 14.1 and forward P/E of 12.5, with an 18.9% ROE and 55.9% gross margin, the market is pricing in limited growth, so the question for a deeper look is whether tenancy ratios can improve faster than operators' spending slows.
