Overview
ACCE thesis
Getinge makes surgical tables, operating room lights, sterilizers and the Maquet and Datascope lines of cardiovascular and critical-care equipment, selling them into hospital operating theatres and intensive care units worldwide. Its moat rests on installed base and service contracts: once a hospital has standardised on Getinge sterilization and OR infrastructure, replacement and recurring servicing are sticky, which supports a 48.6% gross margin. Organic revenue growth has been muted, at 1.7% over the latest period, so the investment case depends on margin recovery and cost discipline rather than top-line acceleration. At a trailing P/E of 25.6 and a forward P/E of 24.3, the market is already paying a premium for a business earning a 16.1% operating margin and an 8.9% return on equity, so the stock needs the margin trajectory to hold or improve to justify a deeper look.
